AND WHO IS FUELLING THIS “CULTURE” THAT HAS ARISEN OUT OF MIDDLE CLASS GUILT?
I myself am not to point the finger, being on the comittee for the last year for HYPE FEST, the hills area’s (Baulkham Hills Shire Council) biggest bi-annual youth festival, comprising of a day full of Local Bands, skateboarding competition, fast food vendors and a semi-famous headliner act. The fluorescent blue stage attracts the insects that are clad in crossgenderal black jeans, irregularly similar haircuts and hopefully fresh bands t-shirts. The line-up of entertainment comprises of the same lack of talent previously mentioned capped of with the same genre that had managed to build up the reputation to be payed for the yelling and strumming, in contrast to the day job which consists of sitting at home on the internet and blending fruits at the local B.O.O.S.T stand.
